In 2013, on a quiet street in Jabalpur, a small group of educators noticed something unsettling. Bright children — full of curiosity at home — were quietly losing confidence inside coaching halls of seventy or eighty students. Doubts went unasked. Mistakes went uncorrected. Anand Tutorials was founded in Jabalpur in 2013 by an education-focused team that had watched too many bright students plateau inside crowded coaching-class batches. The founding thesis was simple: a tutor teaching one student can adapt to that student's actual level far better than a tutor teaching 30. Is Anand Tutorials a coaching class, a marketplace app, or an institute?
An institute — closer in operating model to a traditional education institution than to a batch-coaching centre or a gig-economy marketplace. Tutors are vetted institute-side (subject test + teaching demo + background verification), billing is handled institute-side (never at the door), and dispute resolution is institute-side (with a replacement guarantee). We use technology to run this efficiently, but the institute character is deliberate and matters to how families experience us.
Where is the head office, and how do local branches work?
The head office is at Ghadi Chowk, Vijay Nagar, Jabalpur 482002, Madhya Pradesh, India, with dedicated local branch offices in Bhopal and Nagpur. Each branch has a local Tutor Care coordinator handling matching, mid-term reviews, and any escalations same-day. This branch structure exists specifically because we offer in-person home tuition in these three cities — everywhere else we serve online, and the head office handles those coordinators centrally.
How does Anand Tutorials measure its own performance?
Three metrics matter most institute-side: (a) parent NPS after four weeks of teaching, (b) tutor retention on the panel, and (c) student outcome — board / exam results relative to the diagnostic baseline at engagement start. A tutor whose parent NPS drops or whose students' progress plateaus doesn't stay on the panel long. This is why the average tutor on the current panel has been with us more than three years — the churn happens at intake, not mid-relationship.
Does Anand Tutorials teach only Indian curricula, or international boards too?
Both. Indian boards are the largest share (CBSE, ICSE / ISC and all State Boards including MP Board and Maharashtra SSC / HSC) because that's what our home-tuition students in Jabalpur, Bhopal and Nagpur mostly need. International boards are a large and fast-growing share driven by NRI families — IB MYP + DP, IGCSE Cambridge, AS / A-Level (Edexcel · CIE · AQA), and AP. In-person coverage will grow slowly and only where we can maintain tutor density and same-day operational support.
