Tutor Commitments — what every parent expects from you

Three professional commitments before you begin teaching.

These are the three clauses parents care about most — and the three we hold every Anand Tutorials educator to. Read them carefully before you apply.

Clause § 20
Assignment Continuity & Professional Commitment

Once you accept an assignment, you carry the student's academic continuity. We expect consistency, reliability and respect for the student's learning rhythm.

  • Provide a genuine valid reason if you wish to discontinue any assignment.
  • Give 30 days (1 month) prior notice in writing before exiting.
  • Complete the ongoing monthly cycle — never abandon a student mid-month.
  • Only an unavoidable emergency exempts the notice requirement — inform the team immediately so we can transition smoothly.
Repeated abrupt discontinuations are reviewed and may result in suspension or removal from the Platform's roster.
Clause § 21
Enquiry Responsiveness & Parent Communication

Every lead we send you is a parent's trust in motion. Treat it as a priority — speed and clarity in communication are non-negotiable.

  • Coordinate with assigned parent / student the same day — within 24 hours at the latest.
  • Maintain timely follow-ups through the demo, onboarding and first-class window.
  • Reply to parent and coordinator messages within 24 hours for the entire active assignment.
  • If you are temporarily unavailable, tell us immediately on +91 79742 21232 — we'll reassign rather than keep parents waiting.
Tutors who consistently respond fast get priority for premium NRI and senior-grade leads.
Clause § 22
No Unauthorised Reassignment, Substitution or Referral

You were chosen for this assignment based on your verified credentials. Personally handling the class — start to finish — is a non-negotiable promise to the parent.

  • Personally conduct every assigned class — no transfer, outsource or proxy.
  • Do not refer the student / parent to any other tutor, friend, colleague, coaching institute or third party without prior written approval.
  • Even temporary replacements (illness / travel) must be routed through Anand Tutorials so a verified substitute is allocated.
  • Know a teacher who'd like to work with us? Have them register directly through the official Become-a-Tutor process.
Protects quality, verification, parent trust, academic consistency and platform accountability.
Full clauses and the complete Tutor Code of Engagement are available on theTutor Policy page· By submitting the application below you confirm you have read and accept these terms.

Definition

What is an Anand Tutorials tutor?

An Anand Tutorials tutor is a background-verified subject specialist engaged by the institute to teach one student at a time — either at the student's home in Jabalpur, Bhopal or Nagpur, or live online across India and 27+ countries. Tutors are institute-engaged rather than freelance, which means the institute handles matching, billing, scheduling escalations and parent communication so the tutor can focus on teaching. Every panel tutor has cleared four gates: application screening (90+ board marks or first-class graduation in the applied subject), a written subject test, a 30-minute live teaching demo, and background verification (police-verified for offline; document + phone-verified for online).

Typical scenarios
  • A recent B.Sc / M.Sc / B.Ed graduate in Jabalpur applies to teach Class 8-10 Maths and Science.
  • A working professional with an IIT / NIT background wants weekend 1:1 JEE Physics mentoring online.
  • An AIIMS alumna wants to teach NEET Biology 1:1 online to Class 12 students on evenings.
  • A retired school teacher in Bhopal wants to take up 10-15 hours a week of home tuition in Arera Colony.

Deeper questions from tutors evaluating our panel

Long-form answers to the questions we most often hear from applicants — eligibility, selection, payment, growth.

Who is eligible to apply as a tutor?
The minimum bar is 90+ marks in the target subject at the highest board level you cleared (10th or 12th) OR first-class graduation / post-graduation in the subject you want to teach. Beyond that, we look for teaching aptitude — patience, clarity, and the ability to break down a concept from foundation. Professional teachers, IIT / NIT / AIIMS alumni, working professionals with strong subject depth, recent postgraduates, and experienced retired educators are all welcome. Formal B.Ed is a plus but not required for online 1:1 tutoring.
What does the four-gate selection process look like from a tutor's side?
Gate one: submit the application form (5-7 minutes) with your basic details, subjects and preferred format (home / online / both). Gate two: a written subject test in your applied subject — this is the biggest filter, 30 to 40 percent pass it. Gate three: a 30-minute live teaching demo over video call with a senior education coordinator, scored on explanation clarity, patience with mistakes, and pedagogical structure. Gate four: background verification — identity documents, address proof, phone verification, and police verification if you'll be visiting student homes in Jabalpur, Bhopal or Nagpur. Total time from application to being on the panel is typically 7 to 14 days.
How does payment work? Do I get paid directly by the parent?
No — and this is a hard institute rule. Every fee is paid by parents to Anand Tutorials directly, and the institute pays each tutor monthly against hours delivered. This is documented in our Fee & Payment Policy. It protects both sides — tutors are protected from disputes, non-payment or awkward door-step conversations, and parents are protected from over-billing or side-deals. Payouts are transparent, monthly, and covered by clear cancellation / gap-compensation rules.
Can I teach part-time? Do I have to commit fixed hours?
Yes, part-time is completely welcome — and in fact the majority of our panel is part-time. There's no fixed weekly minimum; you tell us how many hours you can commit and in which slots, and we match assignments accordingly. Full-time slots exist too if you want higher intensity. What matters is that once you take on a specific student, you honour the schedule reliably — consistency is the single biggest predictor of student outcomes and therefore of tutor rating.
Does Anand Tutorials assign the students or do I hunt for them myself?
The institute assigns. Once you're on the panel, a coordinator sends you shortlisted assignments based on your subject, city or timezone, and grade preferences. You review the requirement, accept or decline, and if you accept, we schedule a free trial demo class between you and the family. If both sides agree after the demo, regular sessions begin. This is a huge structural advantage over marketplace apps — you never have to bid, negotiate rates, or market yourself.
What are the growth opportunities on the panel?
Three main paths. First, higher-rate assignments — as your institute-side rating grows (based on parent feedback), you get access to higher-paying senior-class, competitive-exam or international-board engagements. Second, increased hours — many part-time tutors gradually move to full-time as they build consistency. Third, senior tutor / mentor roles — the strongest panel members are invited to conduct teaching demos, contribute to content, and mentor newer tutors. Compensation reflects each step.
How do I apply?
Visit /become-a-tutor and fill the online application form (5-7 minutes) — this covers your basic details, subjects, class range and preferred format. You can also WhatsApp us on +91 7000530316 with a one-line introduction — a coordinator will send you the application link within the same day. Once submitted, we usually revert within 48 hours with the subject test invite.
