The last 60 days before the CBSE boards decide whether your child finishes at 78 or at 92. We've trained over 5,000 CBSE Class 10 and 12 students in the last 12 years across Jabalpur, Bhopal, Nagpur, and Pan-India online. Here is the proven 60-day plan that consistently produces 90%+ outcomes.

Days 1–20 — Syllabus closure and NCERT mastery

Forget reference books. The CBSE board exam is 80% NCERT-based. The first 20 days must be spent finishing the NCERT line by line, including back-exercises and intext questions. Mark every concept you don't recall — these become your "weak chapters" register.

Days 21–40 — Sample papers and answer-writing drills

Solve at least 15 CBSE official sample papers in 40 days — under timed conditions. After each paper, 30 minutes of error-journaling: why did you lose marks?

Days 41–55 — Targeted weak-chapter strikes

Use the weak-chapter register from Days 1–20. Hit each with 1:1 mentoring + 5–10 problems. Aim for 90%+ accuracy on each weak chapter before moving on.

Days 56–60 — Calm, clean, confident

No new content. Daily 4-hour rotation: glance through chapter summaries, attempt 30 quick MCQs, sleep at 10 PM, light cardio. Avoid social media, group study, and "last-minute miracle" YouTube videos.

Subject-wise high-yield checklist (Class 10 CBSE)

  • Mathematics: Quadratic equations, Arithmetic Progressions, Trigonometry identities, Coordinate Geometry, Statistics & Probability — high-mark chapters.
  • Science: Light reflection / refraction (Physics), Electricity & Magnetism, Carbon compounds (Chemistry), Life Processes & Heredity (Biology).
  • Social Science: Map-based questions are almost guaranteed — practice 50+. History — focus on national movements; Civics — federalism, political parties.
  • English: Writing skills (notice, formal letter, analytical paragraph) — easy to optimise.

Subject-wise high-yield checklist (Class 12 CBSE)

  • Mathematics: Definite Integrals, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Probability, Determinants — heavy weightage.
  • Physics: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, EM Induction, Optics, Modern Physics.
  • Chemistry: Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Coordination compounds (super predictable), and named reactions in Organic.
  • Biology: Genetics & Evolution, Ecology, Biotechnology, Reproduction — cover NCERT diagrams.

The parent's role in the final 60 days

  • Quiet study environment after 6 PM
  • Two healthy meals + one fruit / nuts snack daily
  • No comparisons with cousins / classmates
  • One designated "phone-free" study window of 4 hours/day
  • 10:30 PM bedtime, especially in the last 10 days

Why a 1:1 tutor matters at this stage

At 75%, the gap to 90% is not "more chapters" — it's strategy. Which question to attempt first, how to get 4-mark answers full credit, when to draw the diagram. A 1:1 tutor who reviews your child's sample papers personally moves the needle by 10–15 percentage points in 60 days. Read more about our CBSE 1:1 program.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I score 90% in CBSE Class 10 board exam?

Master NCERT first (it covers 80% of the paper), solve 15+ official sample papers under timed conditions, maintain a weak-chapter register, and work with a 1:1 CBSE-specialist tutor in the last 60 days. Many students gain 10–15 percentage points with this strategy.

Is NCERT enough for CBSE board exams?

For Class 10, NCERT + sample papers are sufficient for 90%+. For Class 12, NCERT is the foundation, but you should also solve previous-year papers and practice 1–2 reference books per subject.

How many hours should I study daily for CBSE board?

8 hours of focused study + 1 hour revision of previous day's notes. More than 10 hours/day rarely helps and often increases anxiety.

Can a home tutor help with CBSE board preparation?

Absolutely — 1:1 home tuition or online tuition is the highest-leverage way to push from 75% to 90%+. The key is matching with a CBSE-specialist tutor who will review your child's actual answer scripts.

When should board exam preparation start?

Concept-level preparation must finish by January. The last 60 days are for revision, sample papers, and strategy. Starting last-minute (Feb onwards) caps your ceiling at around 78%.
